see, i forgot.

but really, are they expecting a woman to have a rapists baby and then let the man be a father to that baby? this makes no sense.

then are they suggesting if he is not prosecuted, she is forced to put forth a rape charge, so it is documented that she was raped to maybe fight any custodial parenting? forcing women, the many women, that do not file charges for different emotional reasons. and if she doesnt then all he has to do is get dna evidence and he has all rights to be in the victims life.

boggles my mind.

i ask these people if you criminalize abortion, are the women going to jail? 4 kids at home and you are sending her to jail? if the husband agreed is he accessory adn he has to go to jail or just on the woman? then do we put the kids in foster homes?

Is he forced to pay child support? If he's in prison or otherwise unable to, does anyone pay child support (ie some kind of governmental assistance), or is she basically forced into poverty?

and how many children from unwanted pregnancies they have taken into their homes.

If they truly believe what they preach, why are there still orphanages full to the brim with children waiting for parents.

They should focus on those that are here. It is their moral responsibility. EVERY SINGLE LIVING ORPHAN is their duty to adopt.

When there are no more orphans left, we can start talking about bringing a few more to full term.

than there are available babies.

The would-be parents wouldn't be sacrificing anything due to anti-abortion views -- they would be increasing their chances of adopting.

The rapists while he is in jail? The government for forcing a woman to bring a child into the world? The rapist will have no means of payment while in prison. I think the government (specifically the republican congress) should support these children.

Raped, pregnant and ordeal not over
By Shauna Prewitt, Special to CNN

Chicago, Illinois (CNN) -- When I was in law school, my criminal law professor introduced us to the crime of rape by reading us a quote from Lord Chief Justice Sir Matthew Hale, a 17th-century English jurist: "In a rape case it is the victim, not the defendant, who is on trial."
It was not merely a history lesson. I had lived it.
While a student in my final year of college, at age 21, I was raped. I have dissected that moment -- the horrifying moment that I became a "victim" -- from every possible angle. I have poked and prodded, examined and re-examined. Regrettably, I have even suspected myself in a desperate, ultimately futile attempt to understand how I became a victim.

Then the kicker

It would not be long before I would learn firsthand that in the vast majority of states -- 31 -- men who father through rape are able to assert the same custody and visitation rights to their children that other fathers enjoy. When no law prohibits a rapist from exercising these rights, a woman may feel forced to bargain away her legal rights to a criminal trial in exchange for the rapist dropping the bid to have access to her child.
