to elect a president of color, a black president in fact. So while my brief perusal of your article finds it interesting and informative, the actual thought experiment can't be carried out. Black men got the vote in 1870, but they also got Jim Crow laws.
Let me read it though a few times and think about it. Quite frankly, I don't know if men, black or white were all that fond of women's suffrage, and the woman's suffrage movement suffered from racist overtones at times because of perceived competition from the black suffrage movement, if not outright racism. There were strong women at the time who fought against racism, not only slavery, but their words are lost, except in the preserved minutes of the various suffrage organizations.
