Girls toddler Cookie Monster costume vs. Boys toddler Cookie Monster costume. Were not joking when we say gender expectations and sexualization start early.
Fuck No Sexist Halloween Costumes has started a collection of paired costumes that illustrate an enforcement of the gender binary by the holiday industrial complex (yeah I just made that up). Pairing matched costumes, she shows how dressing up becomes an opportunity to do gender difference.
WIth the Halloween season just around the corner and my dash piled full of post about how sexist this or that halloween costume is I decided I'd make a blog compiling all the sexist halloween goodness.
Essentially I will just post pictures of the same themed male and female costumes next to each other for comparison.
You can make of it what you want.

(110,159 posts)to our girls and women jsut in climate comfort. i am freezing right now. need a hot shower. and all i can see is bare skin out in the freezing cold to the warm, fuzzy, comfy outfits of the guys.
shaking so much, i am having a tough time typing.
need to warm up. lol. later.

My mom dressed me in boy clothes 95% of the time and I am grateful to her for eternity.
My costumes were always animals and they looked mostly like the "boy" cookie monster with different hoods.
That "girl" cookie monster is the dumbest thing I ever saw.
The adult costumes? Whatever. If women want to pander to... fuck, nevermind.
