He doesn't wasn't his little girls to grow up in a world were they'd be blamed for their own rapes over what they wear-- or anything else. He knows where the blame lies; with the ones that rape. He's one of those 'gentle Giant' types, and he adores his family. He's a great guy.

I agree that it's important to work to change the world now, so that the next generation doesn't have to grow up with this toxic victim-blaming bullshit. The first and most important step is to remind people where the blame lies. Once that sticks, it's easier to get them to see how messed up it is to imply that the survivor is to blame for being assaulted.

But anyway, your story about your SIL reminded me of that hugely successful "don't be that guy" campaign in Canada (?). Do you remember the one I am talking about?

Old fashioned even but, to take the law into own hands is the very definition of radical. So, it is radical in the traditional sense.

Infused with a bit of macho-- but whatever it takes. Dad's new to the idea of rape culture are limited in a wa as to what their responses will be. Falling back on the 'and I'll kick you ass' the coping skill they have. Of course I have the same initial reaction so it's not limited to Dads I suppose

I just posted a nice tumblr post I saw about white privilege in GD. I hope it doesn't get bogged down with shit stirring.

What do you say to shit like that? I mean That doesn't result in alert stalking and enforced 'breaks'? Because apparently borderline racist bullshit is perfectly acceptable.
