Still waiting for our mending fences post.

I know I'll die before that happens, but hey, after contributing for years, one can hope.

Eventually they offend some group besides feminists and then something is done.

Your story certainly resonated with me--even if I'm fortunate enough to not share the experience.

at some point, the question presents itself: if these aren't isolated incidences, then we have an infestation and there has to be a reason for that. So do we at DU throw up our hands and say "there's nothing we can do!" or do we get more pro-active and take a leadership role in making DU a feminist bulwark. If we are the DU that set out once to be an agent of change, then that is what we will realize our destiny still is. And it has to happen with our views on women both here and in society as a whole.

continue it if you feel it is futile. It's a tough call to make.

I had an interesting (if frustrating) conversation with a house guest last week (a republican) and he said the problem that Progressives have is that Progressives never progress. "That's the nature of progressivism," I told him.

But there's the rub. It is always evolving for those of us committed to a better tomorrow. So the guy was half right. He just didn't "get" the other half...

You know there are a surprisingly large number of men who are very supportive, and while they may argue about meanings or definitions, they don't constantly derail or mock, but rather try to have a meaningful discussion.

What this does is make the assholes stand out even more-- it's just there's so many of them. The worst are starting to lose their buddies. Not surprising.
