How do I sort thread replies sequentially?

i.e. if I want to see then in numerical (date) order, instead of having all the sub-topics threaded?

edit: Actually, what I really want is to keep the threading, but only view posts over a certain number, any chance that is possible? (If not, I'd settle for the above.)
