Is there a character limit to posts?

I am working on some ideas for posts but… They would end up being very large. I can make them up outside of DU and then cut-and-paste them in, in chunks as replies to an OP but it would be good if I knew a character limit. Thanks

1. There is a character limit to the subject line of posts such that it will truncate that line if it

exceeds the limit.

I've encountered posts where the body of the text has been extremely long so I don't believe there is a limit.

May not be aware of length (or if you prefer, character) limitations on this site for SOME types of posts. They didn’t specify the content of their posts as excluding quoted material.
