I can't renew my membership through the payment process available and therefore, cannot participate in the giving of hearts which I was anticipating for weeks! And my membership is up on Friday.

You can't even open the paypal home page unless you agree to let them plant fucking cookies on your hard drive.

1. They use cookies in the log-in process and for security.

If you don't allow at least the essential ones, you won't be able to use the site.

Try going to the following page and uncheck everything except Essential (which you can't change) and see if it then lets you use the site.

I wanted to make a one time payment as a guest. When I tried to contact them was when I encountered the cookie blocker thing. I have never had to turn off my cookie blocker to make a one time payment with a prepaid credit card.

I don't understand why I was able to use these cards through the very same system on years past and suddenly I can't using the very same process. The card is new, never used on anything else and paypal refuses it. I go through the whole sheebang of entering all kinds of info and at the end they won't accept my $.

The link includes "your account" but in this context, that just means the current session. It's just the location on the site where the settings are stored. I'm not logged in to PP and I get the same thing.

You were probably able to do so in the past because the current security measures that require essential cookies weren't in place. A lot of websites have raised security recently due to global malware and website attacks.

I'm not sure why you're having issues. You could try a different browser. Make sure that you allow Essential cookies from that link (you'll need to copy/paste it if it's not your default browser) that I provided before you try to pay.

I don't really see any reason why that shouldn't work, assuming that the Essential cookies are allowed. I wasn't signed into PP at the time and paid with a credit card.

6. I hear you, really irritating. Last nite I went thru

something similar minus hassles with cookies.

After years of paying as a guest (no PayPal acct) with pre paid credit cards like I do with other transactions, it wouldn't work here.

I contacted the gift card co. and funds were available. Finally I gave up and used a standard bank credit card which went thru.

Maybe I'll contact the gift card co daytime to see if changes have been made - if there's a live rep. to speak to that is, there were none last night.

9. Good luck finding a human...

I have tried at various times, both MC and VISA, and sometimes there's a pick up and then nobody to talk to. I suspect they farm out the phone work to people on another continent who don't really answer the phone. I have been misdirected more often than I have found a solution to a problem with their products.

My funding facility is in a different state and I function, other than internet transactions done with prepay cards, quite well. I don't make many online purchases, DU is an exception.
