Related: About this forumsome weird formatting is happening
For the last few days, I'm getting broken formatting on threads. A post might cover all or part of another post. A section might be seen between posts, with nothing but vertical lines in it.
Is it my computer? I haven't changed anything. No other web site is giving me trouble.

(53,959 posts)I reported it to Skinner. But, then withdrew it because it wasn't happening on my laptop. I called it the "grey ghost lines." Posts are super-imposing on top of one another as well. This can interfere with alerting or reading hidden posts. It seems to happen with newly posted threads and a really big threads.

(53,959 posts)It may be time to try some screen grabs so they can understand what the hell we are talking about. For me, it is odd, that this is not happening on my laptop, or at least not yet. I couldn't even send an alert because the drop-down box got hidden. It is very annoying.

Screenshot three (alert):
Please note, the "alert" screenshot was altered only because I didn't want any additional drama, but more inportantly, was because on my screen it was where one posts was overlapping, then alerting caused the alert screen to fall behind the overlapping post.

(426 posts)This is what happened to me using internet explorer. In ie, there may be an icon near the address bar you can click on to turn on compatibility mode - you may have clicked it accidentally (I did). I clicked it again to turn it off and everything went back to normal.

(53,959 posts)I checked and it was marked. I took it off and went back into several long threads and I don't seem to be having the problem so far. I bet it was the automatic Microsoft update and it reset the compatability mode!
THANK YOU!!!!

Cat on the keyboard strikes again!
She's really stepped up her game from the super obvious rotating of the display screen and/or typing "hghghghghghhghgjggjghgjgjjgkgshghghghghhghgghghghghhg" into open documents. Clever feline.
