Hi Everybody

Former union member (executive board treasurer and chief steward) checking in to say hello. I am now currently disabled with MS so I am retired on SSDI and am on foostamps. Obviously, I've got a big stake in this fight but every once in a while something magical happens and I have $15.00 of disposable income. Every month this miracle happened, I signed over the extra money to Elizabeth Warren. Now Senator Warren.

I am thinking... now that the election is over, if I have an extra $15.00 every other month or so, should I send a check to the IRS? Would that help the Republican crybabies?

Enjoy yourself here.

We have a labor group and lot of us (myself included) have been politically active with unions for years, stewards or officers.

Take good care of yourself and welcome to DU.

I think you'll enjoy it here.

If you are a Shakespeare fan, I hope you will check out my weekly feature in the DU Lounge, William Shakespeare's Thought For The Day. Previous editions are in my journal if you would like a preview.

In order to welcome you to DU, I plan to do an edition this weekend in praise of Elizabeth Warren's election to the Senate. I hope you like it.

I'm no Shakespeare. I'm afraid my pen would write something like this: Personally I think of Elizabeth Warren as our middle finger to Wall Street. Put her on the Senate Banking Committee!

I'll have to watch out for your more elegant prose in the DU Lounge.

As for journals... I'm still trying to find my way around this place. I'm not sure what the journals are yet but I'll figure it out.

Thanks for the welcome!

There's a button at the bottom of your OP that says 'add to journal'. Click it and your post is automatically saved in your journal.

You can access your journal from the link at the top of the page that says 'My Journal'.

You can access the journals of other members by going to one of their posts and clicking on the second icon to the left next to their user name and post count, between the newspaper and the open envelope.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the info! You'll be pleased to know that following your clear and concise instructions I found your journal and discovered both the President and I have something in common - we're both part Irish!

That's the first time I've ever heard that little tune. "There's no one as Irish as Barack O'Bama!"
Still chuckling here.

sat down in front of my computer, and watched that video over and over and over...

I got a little weepy, too, since I'm part-Irish myself.

It was disgusting...
