My real name is Scott but I go by the DU alias "mac56." I don't recall when I officially came on board but I believe it was a month or so after the inauguration in January '01. I've seen a lot of changes and a lot of trends on DU but still consider it my favorite website.

just found it! and although there are trolls under every rock on the internet, this seems like a relatively safe environment. Having found out that I am the only Democrat in my entire two-sided fam, it's going to be good to read some posts here, I can feel it. lack of friendly povs has made me a non-politico post- Nixon. With the Hillary possibility coming close, it's great to have a forum.
