I don't see a memory loss or dementia thread, but I have some interesting information to share.

I started taking lutein and zeaxanthin for eye health about two months ago. It was recommended to me by my optometrist. Within a week I started noticing that I was not searching for my words as much, almost as if a veil had lifted. Since the only change in my life was the addition of the L and Z, I googled them and was astounded to find many articles on the recent studies regarding L and Z and memory loss. Apparently I’m not the only one noticing this marvelous side effect. Today two months later I hardly ever have to search for my words and I’m truly delighted. The bottle of 300 capsules 20 mg. cost under $20 on Amazon and the dose is one cap daily.

I thought this was worth a share!

Found this:

Lutein and zeaxanthin are powerful antioxidants that defend your body against unstable molecules called free radicals. In excess, free radicals can damage your cells, contribute to aging and lead to the progression of diseases like heart disease, cancer, type 2 diabetes and Alzheimer's disease.

Lutein is a carotenoid with reported anti-inflammatory properties. A large body of evidence shows that lutein has several beneficial effects, especially on eye health. In particular, lutein is known to improve or even prevent age-related macular disease which is the leading cause of blindness and vision impairment.

...when I did a search for lutein and zeaxanthin at Amazon, that came up on their list — and I take it for my eyes already.

Would love to stop losing words!

My eye doctors have recommended AREDS2 to slow the advancement of macular degeneration.

So far so good. But does it have L&Z?

I'll look into it but I have so many side effects to medications and over the counter drugs.

Can I get another pill down the gullet?

Seeing the eye doctor on Monday. I'm a believer in supplements, but haven't considered this one.

But I have had eye issues (retinal detachment) in the past and decided that the supplement was worth trying. The other benefits were a total surprise to me.
