The solutions being offered by some people who talk like this may actually be the right solution. I've come to realize rather late that medication can do a lot and for specific diagnosis like Bipolar they may be THE answer. But for may more they are only part of the answer. They will prevent you from falling into the bottomless pit of despair and if you are very lucky they will greatly lift you. But many mental illnesses have a very large nurture component that accompanies the nature side of the equation. People with mental illnesses indeed ARE physically ill, brain imaging has shown that their brains operate in a different manner. Medication will address this side of the equation. In this respect they really are relatable to the flu, to cancer, and more. What they will not do however is address the negative thought processes, the distorted way we look at the world, they will not address childhood trauma, abuse, or neglect. If you find that you can live a happy normal life without addressing these issues and relying only on the medication, hay power to you 100%. Let NO one tell you different. But I think for many the other side of the equation needs to be addressed separately and or in concert with medication, usually with therapy. Perhaps it's this aspect that some people are getting at when they offer such cold, uncaring advise in such an ass-holish way. But there is a sliver of truth to the statements that "you have to make an effort", and perhaps the patient in question isn't "trying".

Having said this the way the message is delivered is full of nothing less than pure unadulterated filth and disgust. It comes from a profound lack of caring and understanding. You may need to change the way you are addressing your problems, but the fact that you refuse to stems not from weakness or a lack of will power, but from the huge gaping wound they don't see!

Dont' take it lightly. If any problem persist then consult to therapist or physician for permanent relief.. I would suggest to join mental health classes online written by experts in the mental health field.

Are often like those rich people born with a silver spoon. They just don't get it.
