Gun seller pleads guilty to charge related to Newtown

Good news that someone is being held accountable.

"BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The man who sold the Bushmaster rifle used in the Newtown, Conn., massacre has pleaded guilty to a federal charge stemming from the gun sale.

Krystopher Dibella, an former employee at Riverview Gun Sales in East Windsor, Conn., pleaded guilty Monday in federal court here to aiding and abetting a failure to make a proper entry on an ATF 4473 form, which is a firearms transaction form. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives raided the gun store days after the massacre. . .

The Journal News first reported in April that the ATF in the days after its raid had revoked the federal firearms license of the store's owner, David LaGuercia, citing a history of violations.

Among the "willful violations" found from January 2010 to July 2011 was that Dibella "sold ammunition on at least two occasions" to a man "he had reason to believe was a felon."

So far, LaGuercia has not been charged. Dibella is scheduled to be sentenced at 11 a.m. Sept. 16.

Neither Dibella nor his lawyer, Lawrence Church, could be reached immediately for comment Tuesday."

can change the meaning of this story.

"The man who sold the Bushmaster rifle used in the Newtown, Conn., massacre has pleaded guilty to a federal charge stemming from the gun sale."

That lead implies that Mrs. Lanza bought the rifle without filling out form 4473.

This story is linked to by the link in the OP. It says there is no indication that Nancy Lanza was involved in any illegal gun purchases that day.

Thus the fiction that only felons commit murders is once again proven false.

I do recall your quip in response to the post about women killed by guns, wondering how many were killed by ganbangers.

that. I think it should be stopped. I don't know how old you are, but we once had a Minneapolis police chief who claimed Minneapolis did not have a gang problem. This was in the days when Minneapolis was nicknamed "Murderapolis".

gangs are not relevant to domestic violence. I advise you to be careful of using terms like "gangbanger," since they signal to readers a racial position.

I am opposed to all gun crime. Like I said in that other thread, I probably should not have brought up gang members. They do commit more gun crime than your average gun owner however. I hope you can agree with me on that.

15. So...

the headline and story lede say the offense was related to the sale to Nancy Lanza... but the only evidence presented just states the offense happened the same day she bought two guns.

In other words, the story says "theoretically possible, but only circumstantial evidence," but the headline and lede (likely written by an editor) says "Fuck yeah!"

So, was it related or not?
