A WW II veteran was reunited with something near and dear to his heart--his dog tag, 68 years later

Thank you for your service, Mr. Mundy.

"INDIANAPOLIS - A World War II combat veteran was reunited with something near and dear to his heart -- his dog tag -- all thanks to a couple from Mooreland, Ind.

Jahue Mundy, 92, served in the Marine Corps and helped U.S. forces capture the island of Iowa Jima in 1945.

Following the war, Mundy was sent to China. That’s when he lost his prized possession – his dog tag.

He thought it over and believed the tag could have been shipped home with some silk stockings he sent his wife.

"The only thing I can think of (is) that dog tag got down in one of them packages and it got waylaid some place, I can't think of anything else," Mundy said..."
