Angela's Ashes

I read the book when it first came out. So did my late husband who was about the same age as Frank McCourt.

Frank McCourt was from Limerick, Ireland; my husband was from an area northeast of there.

He thought the story as written had many similarities to his own life when he was in Ireland. He left in the mid-1950's for a better life in America.

I was struck by the ending of this movie when McCourt finally arrives back in the USA and the Statue of Liberty is what he sees.

Such a great, true-life story this is.

Hope you have time to watch the film.
