1. Hal Ashby is one of my all-time favorite directors

Harold and Maude and Being There are two of my very favorite films. The Last Detail is so excellent, and so underrated. I watched it recently, and it just keeps getting better with age. So many great lines!

3. Groundbreaking in terms of the profanity used.

The eff word was thoroughly unleashed in this film and audiences never looked back. Hey, it’s the way many express themselves in the real world. Film was terrific, especially Nicholson and Randy Quaid, before he went off the deep end.
