Fame and Flashdance singer Irene Cara dies

Cara sang and co-wrote the theme tune to classic movie Flashdance, What a Feeling, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
She also played the role of Coco Hernandez in the 1980 blockbuster Fame and for also recording its title song.
Caras publicist Judith Moose confirmed she had died on the stars official Twitter account on Saturday and to Eyewitness News.
Moose said Cara had died at home in Florida and that her cause of death was currently unknown.
They wrote: It is with profound sadness that on behalf of her family I announce the passing of Irene Cara.
The Academy Award-winning actress, singer, songwriter and producer passed away in her Florida home. Her cause of death is currently unknown and will be released when information is available.
