FRANKFORT, KY The House Appropriations & Revenue Committee endorsed a plan by House Speaker Stumbo

http://www.dailyindependent.com/news/a-r-endorses-billion-bonding-proposal/article_7fdd671c-b17d-11e4-8b82-bf2b957c296e.html

"The House Appropriations and Revenue Committee endorsed a plan by House Speaker Greg Stumbo, D-Prestonsburg, to float $3.3 billion in bonds to shore up the Kentucky Teachers Retirement System.

The measure now goes to the House floor where it’s expected to face opposition and efforts to amend it. Should it pass the Democratic-controlled House, it faces an uncertain fate in the Republican-controlled Senate.

But the measure got more votes in the A&R Committee than Stumbo said he anticipated, including all but one Republican vote. Rep. Addia Wuchner, R-Burlington, passed."

Good luck to Kentucky's retired teachers. I hope the retirement system is saved and not raided by the GOP and Wall Street crooks.

I hope they will do something for the public employee retirement system as well. (But I'm not holding my breath.)
