Iowa women's basketball starter suffers season-ending injury

After senior guard Taylor McCabe exited Sunday's contest against Ohio State with a left knee injury, an MRI confirmed that McCabe suffered a season-ending ACL injury.

Per Iowa's Monday news release, McCabe will undergo surgery, ending her Hawkeyes playing career.

“This isn’t how I imagined my senior season ending, but adversity has always been part of the game. I’m committed to my recovery and to supporting my teammates in every way I can the rest of this season. I’m grateful for the love and encouragement from my coaches, teammates, and everyone who has been with me throughout this journey at the University of Iowa," McCabe said in a statement.

This season, McCabe was averaging 8.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game on 37.8% shooting and 37.4% accuracy from 3-point territory. McCabe started in all 20 games this season and 39 over the past two seasons.
