Clinton Global Initiative's Support Of NAFTA & TPP - Gaius Publius Discusses

to DU'er "matthewf" for posting his Radio Show Interview with Gaius over at DU's Video & Multimedia. His interview focuses on NAFTA and its consequences for American Workers--which is an issue I think we Populists here would be interested in since "Fast Tracking the TPP" is coming up for a vote in the coming weeks.

OR, READ ARTICLE with CHART and more info by Gaius Publius AT:

Anyone who supports this abomination doesn't care either about the sovereignty of nations, or about the working class.

Whenever Hillary talks I am left with the very distinct impression that she feels working Americans don't deserve what we earn and that it is her mission to transfer the meager wealth of the middle class and below to help those in India, China etc.

It's like she hates people who have skills and can make tangible goods and provide tangible services. She just has no concept of this.

American workers are an abstraction to her.

placing them in the top 0.01%. That doesn't necessarily mean they don't connect with us plebeians, but most likely they don't.

5. IMO, CGI is frighteningly devious. Corporate enrichment under the guise of Good Will.

It's a gravy train for all involved on the administrative end, and looks really good on the outside but inside it's crap.

It just occurred to me that if she becomes POTUS it will be the first time for a husband wife dynasty.

Chelsea would be able to say, My Dad was president, then my Mom was president.

Are we that blind?

fight, maybe literally, but they are afraid. They hope for just a little more comfort in their denial bubbles, so willing to settle for the status quo. My appeal to them is "do it for the children". May sound corny but millions of children live in poverty. How can anyone rationalize that. H. Clinton is not the person to fix that problem. She offers a few more years of the status quo. At lease Obama "promised" us change. Whether he didn't ever mean it or couldn't pull it off is a debate and meaningless at this point.

This is a class war and the Clinton/Bush's aren't on our side.

It's an important thing to do. Why else are we here?

If we can't pass on the information to guide them in alternative ways?

Otherwise..we become Orwell's vision. Who would want that for any of those who come after us?

about reducing the poverty levels in this country.

Apparently the President cares more about the TPP than child poverty.

10. Bill Clinton's "Third Term?"

and no one wants to mention it or discuss what this could mean. Does he continue his CGI while living in the WH as the "First Man" (as that will be assumed to be his official title) and what will his duties be in that capacity? Will his influence extend into international affairs as Hillary deals with domestic issues or will it be reversed? No pun intended by mentioning "affairs" btw, but how do we know what their relationship is these days.

It would be a most unusual situation in governance--deciding the proper roles and duties of a former President and his First Lady, now reversed. Co-Presidency? Is that an issue that would call for revision of the Constitution?

I've asked several times in threads here on DU...and never get an answer as to how unusual and complicated this could be if we end up electing Hillary as President without dealing with "Bill."
