Looking for a topical lotion recipe (Original Post) SHRED Nov 2018 OP
Coco butter or beeswax would be good. I wouldn't use essential oil unless it is cannabinol infused. notdarkyet Nov 2018 #1
Are you using the topical lotion as a pain reliever? Quemado Nov 2018 #2

I am curious because arthritic pain affects my sleep. I've experimented with many OTC pain relievers that sometimes work, and sometimes don't.

I've read that cannabis can be a pain reliever. I live in NM. NM has medical marijuana, but not recreational. I've been tempted to ask my doctor for a prescription for medical marijuana to see if that would help.

But I have found Ted’s Pain cream to be the best topical cream around. Does not work on my shoulder but great on every thing else. Amazon for $19/tube.

When I make an infusion of cannabis and coconut oil, the end product is solid at room temperature. It liquifies quickly when applied to skin. It does get a little soupy when the ambient temperature is above 76f or so. I use it topically and ingested. Good stuff.

to your infused coconut oil, add about 15% beeswax and 2% Vit E oil. Vit E oil is an anti-oxidant that will extend the life of your cream.

You can also add about 1.5% of calendula or lavender oil.

I have shea butter and beeswax.

I'm considering a 40/40/20 mix. Oil, shea, and beeswax.

Plus I'm considering lavender oil since it heals abrasions and relieves muscle pain.
