MANCHESTER, N.H. The state Republican Party on Monday is launching an online petition urging the state Democratic Party's superdelegates to listen to their constituents and support New Hampshire primary winner Bernie Sanders at the partys national convention.
Sanders won the primary vote by a margin of 60 percent to 38 percent over Hillary Clinton, but he appears to be tied with Clinton in the state delegate count. See last weeks WMUR.com report on how delegates of both parties are chosen here.
How is this possible? the NHGOP petition says. Because Democrats have set up an undemocratic system that allows party elites called super delegates to single-handedly cancel out the votes of thousands of grassroots activists.

(3,623 posts)Since when does the Democratic Party believe in having delegates without actual voting? If the Republicans are letting the people's voice be heard, then they are 100% right in doing so. They may have terrible policies for the country, but at least they are listening to their voters. The Democrats are not at the moment.

(6,409 posts)Where you get nothing but static. The Republicans don't care whether or not the superdelegates support Clinton, Sanders or Fritz the German Shepherd. They're just trying to get a little publicity and portray themselves as the party of the people.

IMO, they're underestimating Bernie just as DNClinton did....so at the moment the republicans are being inadvertently helpfull. That will change in the GE when the GOP is battling Bernie.
