Proof that they just skim to find the words they like! I never did think they read the entirety of things.

This sounds like the silly shit the GOP has been doing to itself.

that this writer thinks there is something wrong with Sanders attracting attention.

It is a fairly common meme -- the need to find some pathology to explain away why Sanders is now 1-0-1*. (Asterisk for Iowa.)

I also love the presumption about the word, "socialist." These wise old owls do not think there is any need to explain or -- perish the thought -- justify why that should disqualify Bernie from serious consideration. It is as if they all just stuck their fingers in the ears and went lalalala every time some wingnut politician called Obama or Obamacare "socialist."

And, of course, the other all-purpose meme -- conflating Bernie with The Donald. Donald did get a lot of free media in 2015 that helped him build his support enough to be the GOP frontrunner. How much TV time did Bernie get before his grassroots and netroots organizing put him in contention?

The world is changing and guys like that are just clueless about the transformation going on. Those astronomical numbers for Sanders among people under 30 are like a plague of locusts to them -- some incomprehensible force from beyond the fringe.

It is the future, dude. It is gaining on you.

I appreciate the catch on the Berniebro bit, but I also enjoyed seeing how transparent the bullshit can be.

"Let's not insult the intelligence of the American people. People aren't dumb," Sanders said of her donor list. "Why in God's name does Wall Street make huge campaign contributions? I guess just for the fun of it. They want to throw money around."
