COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Elaine Cooper of Columbia readily acknowledges she doesn’t fit expectations her appearance might create.
“I fit the profile of the perfect Hillary voter, a white older lady,” she laughed.
But as a Midlands leader of the “Women for Bernie” campaign for presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, Cooper declared she had found the candidate with the right record on women, and it wasn’t former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“He’s for universal health care,” she exclaimed. “Every woman is looking out for herself or her boyfriend or her parents or her siblings or her children. Nothing could be more ‘pro-woman’ than single-payer universal health care.”
