I never thought I'd see the day where racism was condoned by Democrats. [SANDERS GROUP]

Last edited Thu Feb 25, 2016, 11:19 AM - Edit history (1)

It seems Clinton supporters are willingly blind to the things Clinton's said about people of color. Willingly blind to the fact that Clinton just last night bounced a BLM activist who PAID TO GET INTO THE FUNCTION out when she brought up a question that needed to be asked. Willingly blind to the fact that calling a black person a superpredator is essentially akin to assuming that every muslim they see is a terrorist.

So the question is where's the disconnect anymore? I've made up my mind, I'm leaving this party after the primary. The shit I've seen just on this site-- I'm disgusted in the people I thought I could call fellows. Out and out, bloody disgusted.

ETA: Since I know there are people lurking this, feel free to bar me from your respective groups. Y'all are not my kinfolk.

Most I've got anymore is more and more acerbic snark, and soon that's likely going to devolve into torches and pitchforks mode. Shit like this makes me envy children and the comatose, just a little bit some days.

The racism that came out in the '08 campaign has somehow been forgiven, their past policies that hurt minority communities? No big. Meanwhile Bernie and his supporters got pegged as being clueless or worse on race from pretty much the day he announced. I don't get it.

Some in the Clinton camp are antisemitic, but can't admit it openly on DU because it's not allowed. They beat around the bushes with everything else instead. He's been called a misogynist, a White Supremacist Racist Liberal, a xenophobe, a Red hammer and sickle Stalin communist - all by Clinton supporters, not the GOP/TEABAGGERS.

What they say and do is disgusting. Though, they do mirror their candidate.

the party itself has moved so far to the Right.....it has moved to the right, IMO-because we have had an influx of "GOP-Lite Third Way Dems" rise to power within the power structure.
So, naturally - "we're" gonna get the whole ball of wax.

As Christopher Hedges said, the genius of Bill Clinton was that he pushed the Democratic Party so far right it became the Republican Party and pushed the Republican Party so far right it became insane.

Our caucus is March 5, and Monday, March 7, my husband and I are going to change our party affiliation to Independent. I'm a baby boomer who has been a Democrat all my life, but this isn't my party anymore. It hurts to have to say it, but I'm done.

They were both registered as Democrats, and while Texas is semi-open (not sure about Michigan or Tennessee), I figured I'd swap my denomination as a solidarity thing, but.. Fuck it, man, it ain't worth it. It stopped being worth it a long time ago, and if these republican-lite chicken hawks want to walk into the mouth of the deep fryer, well hey. That's their prerogative.

I'm not marching with 'em.

leaving the party IF Bernie isn't the nominee. There's millions of me and you out here. The so-called "Democratic" party has been exposed by Bernie and I will NOT ever be supporting what it has become....and Clinton supporters are the perfect example of what it has become.

I have to remind myself that our government can't even break into an iPhone, let alone orchestrate a roughly 300-man operationto sabotage the Democratic party one a singular site for any longer than a week before it gets whistleblown on. My belief is that the name "Democrat" on its own has been tainted and sullied beyond recognition by these republican-lite chameleons that we somehow keep getting foisted upon us.

Wish we had a proper Labor party some days.

(among many, many others)

And I would say there was substantially more racist garbage coming from the HRC campaign in 2008 than now (not to excuse recent events).

they've been so propagandized by the far right post Reagan that their attitudes towards actual liberals are no different than Rush Limbaugh's. I agree; I also will work towards building a truly left wing party in America again. Hillary supporters are to the right of Reagan and Nixon in many ways, so there can't be a meeting of the minds with them.
