How Bernie Sanders Took Big Risks to Lift African Americans

Published on Feb 25, 2016

Carlton Boyd, a 35-year-old resident of South Carolina, spoke to TYT Politics reporter Jordan Chariton at the state capitol in Columbia.

"When you start talking about police brutality, it's such a taboo subject that not a lot of people don't necessarily want to touch," Boyd said.

He also touched on the natural distrust African Americans have for politicians, weaving in history and present day.

On 2016, Carlton believes Sanders is the candidate who's spoken to the issues most important to the African American community.

Peace.
