Stockholm syndrome

It's the only way I can make sense of otherwise rational adult progressives voting for Clinton in the primary or carrying on in such a disturbingly sycophantic way. Compared to the other members of our plutocratic kleptocracy, she's the "nice" one, right? Just hope she doesn't change her mind about whatever demographic you belong to. You may be "in" today but you're surely going to be "out" tomorrow.

I agree with you, all my life I naively believed African Americans (my people) would never vote against their own interests the way non-wealthy white voters do when they cast votes for republicans, boy was I wrong.

and obsequiousness before pure corporatism, militarism, and opportunism makes you want to reach for the paper towels.

...is pretty much being dumbed down more and more over time. Cell phones are a good example of this. A lot of people can't even do simple math anymore because they have a calculator in their pocket at all times.

Well, it isn't. Members here tend to be political junkies and policy wonks. Most of the electorate, including PoC, are not.

I doorknocked 4000 doors this summer for my district city council candidate. One guy told me that he was not going to vote in the primary because he didn't want to read up on nine candidates--he'd wait for the general when he would only have to red up on two. He was white, but that kind of sentiment is common among all demographics.

I remember at the outset of his campaign how he said he was going to see if it was possible to run a successful campaign w/o taking corporate donations. I think that he overestimated the social health of the voters and underestimated the power of the corporatocracy.

i'm beginning to think that during the white house/sec of state years they gathered all kinds of blackmail dirt on everyone they could possibly want to exert pressure on in the future...and that they're using it now.

Not all of them, but many people just don't do any research, they will just vote for the name.
