I heard Markos of Daily Kos on the radio today saying Bernie was done in two weeks

What's his deal? He was totally pessimistic about Bernie even though he says he supports Bernie's policies. Worse, he was pushing the line about Bernie supporters being racist for dismissing Hillary's big Tuesday's wins in the south. Basically, he was saying the whole story about how Bernie supporters are telling blacks what they should think, being paternalistic, and Bernie blew it with the blacks by not getting them on board from the beginning, etc.

Markos was also pushing a piece he wrote for DailyKos making his case on this (however, I can't find it).

The one point I thought he made that was decent was how Bernie using the word revolution was off-putting for Hispanics, because they have a negative association with that word. Personally, I've worried the use of "revolution" is scary for many people.

But overall, it was ridiculous how negative Markos was about Bernie, and the certainty with which he was saying Bernie would be done March 15.

I guess he's always been more mainstream than most of the people on his site.

I actually just remembered how much he censored the site over certain topics, back in the Bush years. So nothing new, I suppose.

As were most of the 'front pagers' and staff members of his site. But, as here, more than half of the actual site users were pro-Bernie, and remain so. The 'revolution' talking point was one I heard a day or two back on MSNBC, so it's making the rounds.

The one in which Kos simply assumed that the rest of the primary season is frozen in time, that Sanders' numbers vs Clinton would magically stop changing as soon as states started voting. Sanders was still climbing towards parity with Clinton nationally when primaries started, so of course he didn't do as well as he could have. Add in the double whammy of almost every state early on being more conservative, where you would EXPECT them to choose the more conservative candidate, and nothing about the states to date was really that surprising. But to simply proclaim it 'over', based on conservative states' populations preferring Clinton is downright silly. I'm sure it hurt Bernie's momentum to have the order stacked against him like that, but that's exactly what was intended. It's why so many southern states 'frontloaded' their primaries, to make sure they boosted the most conservative candidates running.

Would Bernie have done better in other states if he's spent more time there already? Sure. But first he had to survive out of the gate, and not have his candidacy crushed outright in Iowa and New Hampshire. Without 99% name recognition and already having campaigned across America once before, he was starting at a disadvantage, and had to focus on making sure he survived to keep running before anything else. And he did, and he is.
