Nancy Pelosi Just Dropped Presidential Campaign Bombshell, Comes Out Against Superdelegates

Political pundits have been analyzing polls and fretting over voter turnouts in the primaries to try to determine just who will win the Democratic presidential nomination. Or at least some have, even though a significant number simply crowned Hillary Clinton the nominee from the beginning. But regardless of which nominee you’re supporting, something happened today that speaks volumes about which way the tide is turning in the Democratic primary.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D – CA.) has just dropped the biggest bombshell of the campaign, and you may not even have heard about it. Mark my words, when we look back, we’ll see that this was the turning point. The Hill reported today that Pelosi came out against the superdelegate system which is currently of great benefit to Hillary Clinton.

“I’m not a believer in the sway of superdelegates deciding who is going to be the nominee. I think we have a democratic process where people vote on both sides of the aisle … and that that should determine who the nominee is.”

The immunity offer?

Maybe seeing the GOP fracture has scared enough party big shots that they see giving Sanders a fair chance to win might be the only way to preserve the Democratic party, even if he wins it would be better than our fracturing as well?

Too many possibilities, but I do know this will be seen by the Clintons as an affront to Hillary's campaign.

I don't see that changing even if Clinton is elected. But that is the question, huh.

. . . lowered turnout during the primaries already held.

Why bother to vote at all, when the outcome is pre-determined?

This may at the very least signal movement by the party that has behaved fairly dumb and cowardly getting themselves out of what is turning out to be a crisis. Hillary's vulnerability not inevitability is being set in stone for November. Sanders is and wide range of party leadership.

The solution would be for the superdelegates not to throw the primaries to Hillary but try to broker another candidate. This would not exactly be progressive or good for Sanders but it might not be workable at all, too little too late, only morte blood in the water at the Convention.

This is why he needs to decisively perform. He has to beat back the rigged portion of Hillary solid supers. He has to get beyond the barrier of an intentionally stalemated Convention.

In other words, this is getting interesting but not necessarily the big enchillada for Sanders or defeat for Hillary who probably has more power to prevent a brokered Convention- as of now.

I mean both sides could step aside gracefully- for Elizabeth Warren for example.
