Bernie Sanders 'Stunned' By Large Crowds Showing Up For Him

NPR —

When Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders took the stage at Drake University in Des Moines Friday night, he got a standing ovation. The auditorium holds 700 people and it was packed, including the balcony.

The Democratic presidential candidate is doing something on the campaign trail even he didn't expect drawing large crowds in Iowa, New Hampshire and beyond.

"If you were to ask me a couple of months ago whether we would have larger crowds than any other candidate out there, I would not have told you that that would be the case," he said recently.

BTW, Dewey was the least of Truman's problems in that election.

I'm waiting for the "Bernie Who?" headline after he blows the roof off of the first caucus.

Very positive. Short audio of Bernie talking about being surprised at how many people show up and he even mentioned Minneapolis. (hoot hoot!) and the woman narrating it was very upbeat about him. Tried to find it but could not.

There is a canvasing meeting Wed Jun 17 6:30 PM at the Blue Nile Restaraunt, Blue Nile Restaurant
2027 E Franklin Ave, Minneapolis, MN

At this point I am begging people to come it doesn't look like very many are coming. I found this on Meet Up. So, if you have the time and don't mind risking going when it might be a small group.

Does anyone not remember how many people took to the streets of Occupy Wall Street? Does no one remember that a weelend march could have taken over the NY Stock Exchange?

I can't find it on berniesanders.com

I'm wondering if there's anything scheduled for Los Angeles yet. I wish I had caught him when he was out here before he announced, can't remember why I couldn't make it, but it will be more exciting now that he's actually a candidate I think.

Select Attend Events...then RSVP for the Denver event...and the number is at the bottom of the page.

It's the only event that I've seen with a count...it's at 4,301 as of 12:04AM Pacific.

Fun to see it just go up and up.

I tried to see if I could find something, anything yet but could not...I would imagine something's going to get started...we are a little early in the race yet.
