News with Bernie in it now being censored from LBN?

So I posted a news story from AP today and it got locked as "off topic". To my knowledge there has never been an "Off Topic" requirement on latest breaking news, just the requirement that it not be older than 12 hours and not conspiracy.

This is getting a little carried away.

Seriously. A journalist quoting someone is not opinion. It is news unless the reporter actually reports his opinion and not the subjects words.

And I can't imagine the quandry of determining when news goes in one bucket vs the other.

If we put all primary news including reporting on speeches and possibly even vote tallies it might make more sense. But doing it this way is problematic and going to lead to a lot of problems.

It's a Bernie vs. Hillary piece, so it goes to GDP. S'just the way it works.

I can vouch that Azurnoir isn't someone to go around locking threads for mentioning bernie

I had a post locked a year or so ago that was well within the parameters of the forum and it was locked for being more than 12 hours old even when it was not.

Hence I will not post there under any circumstances, what others do or do not do is up to them, but I certainly will not use the forum.

It was a report on what a public figure said.

News Reporting on Public Figures is almost always reporting some "vantage" or information that is a personal opinion. They will have to cut half the news out there.

can be taken by as an opinion by the time his quote hits the paper. So basically anything Hillary says from now on, one can't quote because hey it's an opinion yeah totally makes sense.

Group think is very dominate in LBN.
Over a year ago I posted a news item from a reliable source, but one of the group hosts locked it saying it was saying essentially the same thing as an article that was posted there the day before.
That group host left DU 4 months later.

I don't think they want any news that does not fit their agenda posted in that forum.

representation. That's our fault. We need more progressive in MIRT and the Host Forum.

...they locked a thread about his Salt Lake City rally where 14,000 supporters showed up, too -- "off topic".

Yeah, right.
