Can I get some critiques on an idea I'm kicking around?
I'm trying to take the Sanders campaign's fund raising strategy and try to keep up the momentum/contributions that all candidates who support similar progressive goals are going to need if we want to create real change.
I know a lot of people have set up reoccurring payments that get donated to Bernie monthly, but once his campaign is over the money stops coming in. So my thought was if enough people joined a service that collected a variable monthly fee from all its members, and then distributed that money proportionately from high level candidates like Bernie, all the way down to local candidates in the persons area, it would a) make donating a lot easier in general for people, and b) make sure the right people stay funded all the way down the line. And since its just a small monthly charge, most people won't miss it, and can accrue money for elections going forward if there aren't any at that exact moment...like a piggy bank.
Is that something that already exists or is it a stupid idea or what? I'd love some feedback before I put any more thought into it.
