Sigourney Weaver, the American actress who starred in the Alien series, volunteered in a Kibbutz for several months at the age of 18 in 1967.

Simon Le Bon, the lead singer of Duran Duran, volunteered in Kibbutz Gvulot. The band’s first album included a track called Tel Aviv.

Sandra Bernhard, the American comedian, actress, author and singer, volunteered in Kibbutz Kfar Menachem at the age of 17 in 1972.

Debra Winger, the American actress and the star of “An Officer and a Gentleman”, volunteered on a kibbutz and even served in the IDF.

Michele Bachmann, American Congresswoman and 2012 U.S. Presidential candidate, spent a summer volunteering at Kibbutz Be'eri at the age of 18 in 1974.

Noam Chomsky, American professor of linguistics, peace activist, spent time at Kibbutz HaZore'a in 1953.

Heinz Fischer, Austrian president, volunteered at Kibbutz Sarid at the age of 25 in 1963.

Annie Leibovitz, American portrait photographer, volunteered at Kibbutz Amir at the age of 20 in 1969.

"in kind" and in those words and she is considered a DU icon, so none of this surprises me.
Nor was she PPR'd for it, and of course before putting the racist bigot on ignore I noted she had nine hides, just one of their Hill Heroes.

When your spokesperson vacillates between anti-semitic race baiting and professional victimhood, it does not speak well of your character.

It's what you do when you can't run a campaign on substance and policy.

But worsening. That's why Fallon is suddenly agitating about the debate that HRC has avoided for weeks. HRC needs it to try to seize the momentum.

I think her internals show her tied in NY and losing Wisconsin. If the slide continues . . .

There is a DU strain (outside of IP) that has "different" views on race. This person fits in that category.

I guess you missed when a certain very prolific anti-bernie poster here posted a virulently ugly and hateful anti-semitic post about Bernie on some other site about how Jews secretly hate blacks and then tried to apologize here (for being discovered).

Holy smokes. He helped grow vegatables and raise cows. Shared profits.

What they forgot to mention is "the Kibbutzim were run as collective enterprises within a free market system. Kibbutzim also practised active democracy, with elections held for kibbutz functions and full participation in national elections.

Instead we hear they were: "modeled on the communist ideals of the Soviet Union"

Except that the first Kabbutz was established in 1909. Soviet Union in 1922.
