(41,132 posts)a college friend for lunch. When leaving, I noticed the nicest voice somewhere, looked and saw Tony Bennett on a staircase singing 'I Left My Heart in San Fran.' Some years later I had the opportunity to visit and see the sites of the great city on the Pacific.

But Sinatra would be pretty amazing.

(14,691 posts)mainly in my mid teens was a Beatlemaniac - I did still appreciate the "standards" - Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hammerstein, et al. I also liked some Sinatra songs, e.g., Summer Wind.
These days IMO they oversing everything and torture every single note to death. It oughtta be a crime to kill a song.
