(14,255 posts)I would not have voted for Hillary even if Bernie had never declared.
IMO, the people who don't want to vote for Hillary just do not want to vote for a Third Way warmonger who will crap on everybody liberal the minute she is sworn in.
Making this about Bernie is a mistake, and a very shallow way of looking at this.
There.

(10,493 posts)I make no apologies for for believing Trump's the wrong direction. I make no apologies for not supporting Clinton either. And don't fool yourself for a minute if you don't think they weren't friends prior to this campaign season. Turning your head is lying to yourself.
I'm tired of the slime and corruption. I see no distinction between them, only shades of filth in different areas of corruption. And this is what our party gave us. A corrupt politician under FBI investigation, with an ex president spouse who flew on Epstein's kiddie porn express (as did Trump), and took money from everyone she did a deal with as SOS. You may find it tolerable, I find it repulsive, and that is what separates us. That separates us before we can even discuss the issues that matter in fixing our country, and that's what really angers me about the state of our party. Because our country has serious problems.
Worrying about her getting in office is not my burden. It never has been. I drew the line that people such as yourself and others are able to walk past without hesitation. If you want me to join you, you will need to come back to me, not the other way around. And I think THAT is what most Hillary supporters fail to understand. That's a line in the sand too far.
I will vote this fall, don't be mistaken. There are down ballot candidates that need support. But who earns my support for President will be the candidate I find standing beside me at the line, not beyond it.

(9,313 posts)it's the tone of so many of the posts that contain that vow.
I get the opposition to Hillary. I have a different perspective. I did not post the OP in an effort to change any minds. I needed to express frustration that's been building up, and lay out the thoughts behind that frustration. At the core of it all is my belief that it's about us, not "them." And, as I said in the OP, I think we - people "on the ground" lobbying for meaningful change -- have a better shot at influencing legislation, and seeing constitutional issues resolved more sanely, with Hillary in office than Trump. My perspective may be misguided. It's just where I'm coming from.

(872 posts)pick one who isn't a corrupt incompetent crook. The lesser of two evils meme doesn't work when the choices are both totally disgusting.

(5,400 posts)Frankly, she came across as a bit unhinged when she laughed about Gaddafi's death. When Tucker Carlson reported regarding Bush giggling about the woman he refused to pardon begging for her life, I got a similar vibe.
She'll need to come across as less dangerous, to have come to terms with what's happened in the Middle East, before I can start to think about voting for her.

(9,313 posts)Ultimately, it's not about the vows not to vote for Clinton that sadden me... http://www.democraticunderground.com/1280187717#post7
