I didn't think sarcasm tags were necessary, then again, I'm pretty sure the alerter and most of the jury knew what I was getting at and just locked it because they disagreed. At least, I hope that's what happened. The alternative is even sadder.

I think the collective intelligence on DU has dropped markedly in the last few years. You didn't always have to spell out sarcasm in the old days!
