(38,501 posts)Unfortunately, M$NBC isn't that kind of channel anymore. Remember "Lean Forward?" That didn't last.

(24,721 posts)I'd guess that Ed stated to the corporate overlords that he would not compromise his principles and what he as a human really believed.
The ones who are left at MSNBC, in my estimation, said "sir, yes, sir, tell me what to say write it out for me and I'll repeat it verbatim.. sir yes sir."

(41,600 posts)Is there any question why MSNBC dumped Ed? He's a man of CHARACTER. No one left on that network possesses character or journalistic INTEGRITY...especially Rachel Maddow and Chris Hayes - two people I NEVER thought would choose a big paycheck over the 99%. I don't know how they sleep at night.
Big Ed sleeps with a clear conscience!
It's GREAT that he hasn't sold his soul.
I look forward to his introduction!

(39,909 posts)I listened to Ed Schultz back when he broadcast out of North Dakota (Fargo?) years ago
when I was living in Minnesota. He did more to give mid-westerners permission to vote for the Democrat than anybody else at the time. The Republicans had done a good GREAT job at stereotyping all Democrats as limp wristed, birkenstock wearing, hippies,
and NO boot wearing mid-western cowboy wants to be associated with THAT crowd (really...that insecure).
Big Ed countered with, "I'm a red meat eatin, two fisted, gun toting, beer drinking, Union Democrat, and proud of it".
Of course, that doesn't play well in the cities, but in the upper mid west it did. He KNEW his listeners, and how to read & lead them.
Thanks, Ed.
