b/c they are so poor? I thought we were middle-class white guys in volvos. I find it hard to believe any hrc supporter has a mirror in their home.

(28,484 posts)I must have been mistaken. Because I can't afford it.
Actually, it's true. I can't afford it, but I still sent something. Because I believe an economy under Sanders will ultimately bring me more discretionary income. So I'm looking at my small donation as my investment portfolio. Maybe the Clinton people will understand my dedication to him if I put it it Wall Street terms.

(11,945 posts)Lately I just wonder what's wrong with them. Something's ... not right. And that is probably the most intolerable thing about posting out on GD . Quite a few people there I would not willingly choose to spend my time around for any reason other than helping Bernie.
I do it for the lurkers, for any political junkies out there, for journalists and other media workers who peek in from time to time, for undecided voters. I try to K&R OPs that should be seen and to promote Bernie and demote the lesser candidates. But the whole thing feels squalid and demeaning, and if the wrong candidate gets the nomination, I'm not sure what I'd want to use DU for. For light conversation? Special interests? Eh, I'm most likely on the ban list anyway, so it probably won't matter. And that's okay.
The vast majority of Bernie supporters, otoh, come through as real human beings. Good people, awake, aware, possessing depth and humanity, nice to be around. Most of us will be reachable at JPR.
It's kind of amazing how different the supporters of the two candidates are.
The one really big rally I attended felt so incredibly upbeat, cheerful, friendly, peaceful, considerate, safe. So many young people too, and they cheered at all the places that politically aware people cheer at, and I was so impressed with them. I hope the political revolution gathers momentum and begins changing this country in all kinds of ways, big and small.

Really great people. Lots of nurses and grandparents. Lots of very young people with hopes and dreams. It's a good mix. They are all very kind, I notice. And most of them have no political experience although some in Pasadena are not only wonderful people but seasoned campaigners.

(13,877 posts)back into the White House, my thought is that the material will practically write itself. Also we'll need consolation and get ready for 2016.
We admittedly failed in the midterms last time. There are a number of candidates and down ticket races that were fueled by Bernie. I just hope he isn't too tired or Fed up to mentor his fledglings. And many of us can be found here .

Rachel, the other candidates, theyre taking millions of dollars from the Koch brothers and Exxon Mobil, but not me. I only accept coins. And Im not talking about fancy coins like dimes and quarters. I just want nickels and pennies the coins of the middle class.
And Rachel, I dont want new pennies, Im talking about those old pennies that are so covered in hard, black gunk you cant even read the date.
So America, if you believe in Bernie, I need you to go home, open your closet, pull out your vacuum, dump it upside down, and send me all the pennies that fall out of it. Thats right, Im Bernie Sanders, and I want your vacuum pennies.

(57,936 posts)I spoke to three Hillary people today. (I spoke to far more Bernie supporters.) Not a one of them had a clue. All middle-aged women who will just vote what they are told to vote.
Seems like we Bernie supporters are grandparents, grandkids and parents of Bernie supporters. That's what I find. There are lots of exceptions, but as a rule we are the young people, the grandparents of the young and those parents who talk to their children who found Bernie first.
I am overgeneralizing. The Hillary people don't seem to be able to talk about why they like Hillary. I am not very intimidating-looking and it takes a lot to make me mad, so I think they are being as honest as they can be with me. The Hillary supporters just seem kind of confused and baffled when you try to talk politics with them. The Bernie supporters look you in the eye and talk about their favorite issues. So do the libertarians you encounter as you campaign. So the libertarians know more why they are for what they are for than the Hillary supporters. Strange times.

(11,785 posts)IMO, the divide in this election isn't based on race, gender, age, or socioeconomic status. It's about who trusts their television and who doesn't.
It's about who does and doesn't have the time and/or inclination to peer behind the facade.
It's about who's willing to admit that the status quo isn't working and who's too afraid of change to risk it.
It's about who sees that we're stuck on downward slope and need to correct that, fast, and who hopes things can muddle along as they are, at least for their lifetime.

The HRC people are hard working grown ups who are busy taking care of their families and obligations and stuff so they don't have TIME to waste to waiting in line!
And the same dude said Bernie is going to get creamed the same way McGovern did?
Oh Lordee, the tired, recycled old rhetoric - can't they come up with something new?
We Deaniacs were called "latte drinking Saab drivers." Now that Saab is out of business - what's another Swedish car??

Got a notice today a new office is opening in Latino-heavy East L.A. His numbers among Latinos and young people here will astound everyone. He's campaigning his heart out, so we shouldn't be sidetracked or discouraged by the spin and lies from the HRC campaign. But must keep the moola coming, whatever we can manage.

It will only make the inevitable crash hurt worse and after all the attacks on icons (Dolores Huerta, John Lewis, etc.) and lies, I want that crash to hurt. I hope they show some tears when he finally concedes and returns to the Senate a broken and defeated failure.

(349 posts)Thanks to their millions+ payout, I just assume that every single (yes, every one) post in favor of Bernie's opponent is being paid and doesn't really feel that way. Why do you think his opponent's poll numbers are falling like a leaf... There are multiple reasons and this is one.
