Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumNeed your help to stop the "thrown chairs" lie
My husband and I were listening to NPR's "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" program this morning and heard them repeat the lie about thrown chairs, chaos, and near rioting by Bernie supporters at the Nevada Convention. Several have posted on their facebook page demanding an apology and a statement that they were in error.
Please either weigh in with your own post or give a "like" to the posts on their FB page calling them out for spreading the lie.
Thanks!

(3,425 posts)I think it is a waste of time and money to continually deny all the lies and false rumors. It allows the liars to control and frame the conversation. We must take control back by using their methods.
Bernie has millions of followers and we can use our collective strength in highlighting the misbehavior of our opponents, real or imagined. The more outrageous our versions of the truth become, the more oxygen it will take up. We can start examining
Trumps statements about his own daughter. I find them sickening. We can look more closely at Hillary's ties to Clinton foundation. We can also highlight how many times Bill has accepted free flights to various events from a known pedophile. It is possible that Hillary may have also accepted free flights. We can highlight the possibility that she will be indicted for her email scandal.
While we may not know the truth of such scandals, we must give ourselves the same leeway our opponents have taken in trying to take Bernie down. Their approach of "just make shit up" works for them and if we want to win, we need an even playing field.

(3,919 posts)if the thrown chairs lie is brought up, we are presented with an opportunity to reinforce it was a contrived story - and segue into the fbi investigation of hillary and her drop in the polls vs trump compared to the sanders gains in the polls vs trump. we then point out bernie is the better, more qualified candidate.

(7,499 posts)I've emailed the Tonight Show numerous times about the jokes regarding Bernie's age. It's just wrong. Ageism, sexism and racism always need to be called out.

(812 posts)Trying to defend against it will be a losing battle, as others have mentioned. You really have to go on the offense to get ahead of it.
The cheaters gonna cheat, and it's not like their supporters care (or have any interest in looking at anything honestly).
