Vermont Democrates Oust SuperDelegates! Effective immediately!

http://bernthepress.com/2016/05/22/vermont-democrats-oust-superdelegates/
This goes into effect for this July's Convention!

May 22, 2016
On Sunday Vermont Democrats were clear that superdelegates no longer represent the populace.

In a state in which Bernie took 100% of the delegates there was little to debate.

A superdelegate vote in Vermont held the weight of 10,000 votes.

From the link, "The resolution does not affect the July National convention. It is set to begin in the 2020 race."

A few superdelegates had publicly stated they intended to cast their vote for contender Hillary Clinton despite public outcry. Two such superdelegates are lame duck Governor Peter Shumlin and former governor Howard Dean.

Plus, this could be a change that happens at the convention.

Abolish superD's!

Every last one of our superdelegates has pledged to vote for Hillary at the convention (including Jim McDermott of all people!) despite the state voting overwhelmingly for Bernie. And they wonder why we're fed up with the system.

Get someone to primary him if he doesn't vote for Bernie. I know it's what the teabagger party did, but if it worked for them, it can work for us too.

If you don't know your chain of contact, call your State Dem Party and ask.
http://www.wa-democrats.org/

Tell them you want to make sure abolishing superD's is a resolution. Then talk with your Senate and Congressional District Bernie Chair delegate(s). They are the ones moving the resolutions.

At least this is how it works in my State. Let us know how it goes.

I have a serious love of ravens. We have all ages show up in the winter for food--and it is a joy to watch them.
If I recall you are out west?

First of all, it won't affect the convention for this year. This is the first primary since the superdelegate system was introduced in which there are two distinctly different candidates going into the home stretch of the primary. This measure won't take effect until 2020, and if Hillary is running for re-election, the point will be moot since no one will be allowed to primary her. And in 2024, if we make it that far, we will get back to the pre-2016 Tweedledum versus Tweedledee routine.

regardless of when you have calculated it going into effect. Making that change is affecting us all now, regardless.
