These are the 'Awesome-5' Bernie selected for the DNC Platform Drafting Committee. (The rules committee). Some call them the "Change Gang"!

Dr. Cornel West - Philosopher, social activist, prominent member of Democratic Socialists of America

Deborah Parker - Activist bridge between Native tribes and federal government & Violence Against Women Act

Keith Ellison - Congress member from Minnesota, Co-Chair Congressional Progressive Caucus, First Muslim elected to U.S. Congress

Bill McKibben - Environmentalist, author and journalist regarding impact of global warming, from Vermont

James Zogby - Founder and President of the Arab American Institute, advocates for balanced policy in regards to Palestine and Israel.

This exciting group of 5-progressive people Bernie selected to be part of the 15 that make up the Platform Drafting Committee, which I think is for the Convention Platform, not the National Committee's platform. If you know, please comment. We seem to have one acronym for two functions: DNC.

I am proud to be supporting the candidate who named them.

I'm still looking forward to voting for Bernie in CA on June 7!

Here is a link to Wikipedia about the DNC and the party platform. It's not totally clear but I think it shows that the platform committee writes the policies for the national Democratic Party.

You are right, it still is not clear if the Convention DNC is writing the rules for the Convention only or for the Democratic Party's platform.
