I hate to post this here, and if it's disallowed, please let me know and I will delete. Was not sure how this worked around here. I checked the Terms of Service and saw no mention about it.
I've been hesitant to post this in here about this because most of you probably don't know me from a hole in the wall. I used to go by username "Faye" and was really active during the 2004 Election FRAUD. I've been here and there ever since but have been back daily since the current campaign.
Anyway, I am having an extremely difficult time right now. No, there is no terrible tragedy (thank God!) but my daughter and I are going through a rough period financially. Partially my fault, I guess, because I did not know I should have been prepared for the summer season.
I am self-employed, run my own *usually* successful business, and work part-time as back-up to slow periods. Well in May, I hit a slow period AND lost half my hours in the part-time job. i haven't seen a child support payment in over 6 months (and usually never do anyway). We fell behind in all of our bills last month and this month and are trying to catch up. I have caught up on some things for now, thanks to others helping out, but now I have to find ways to get my rent money by the 16th to avoid court, eviction etc. I have a call out to Catholic Charity to help but have not yet heard back. I'm also working on finding something temporary for the summer to hold me over until the busier season is back and have sent my info out to several opportunities.
It was just this time last year when I left my day job to pursue my business, but had a few months' worth of bills saved up, so I don't think I noticed how slow it was. This year it has become quite apparent that business turns into crickets when late spring/summer hits. Will def. need to plan better for next year.

(9,745 posts)I thought maybe we met once back then? Were you at either of the protests back then? There was one when they were certifying the election (it was more like a march) and the other for the inauguration. For some reason I just remember meeting you or being in a picture with you, or seeing one of you from that day. I look nothing like that now, though lol.
Maybe it was someone else....I met up with a lot of DU'ers both days.

(9,745 posts)that was the march with Jesse Jackson and others, right? Had so much fun that day. I was there with Andy and this lady from DU, forget her name, "aunt of twins" or something like that....and we met up with other DU'ers.

(4,753 posts)marching to the congress without a permit - probably the last time that ever happened. I got to know Andy in Nashville and miss him to this day.

(9,745 posts)Mr. Scorpio was there too I think, I remember meeting him there.
I'll be at the convention marches in Philly as well, it's right across the bridge. I'm assuming it will be even more fun - all for Bernie!

(9,745 posts)Yes, it does suck! He does pay sometimes when they catch him in a new job, but he never keeps them for long. It's really irritating.
Anyway, thank you very much for your contribution and support

(9,745 posts)So, I haven't reposted this in a while because I thought we had the help we need, but I just found out today that we got turned down by Catholic Charities for rent help because they didn't think I could take care of July rent (some weird rule they have). Well, I just got a job with a lawyer in NJ and started today, and I finally started getting child support again. So the lady is appealing my case but doesn't mean it will be approved.
Court was filed on us today for eviction. I don't know what the chances are of her getting us approved with my new income, so now we desperately desperately need help Eviction process has officially started today. I really don't want this to happen as I have secured work and am getting CS again - we should be fine now aside from getting caught up on this June rent!
ANY AND ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED.
