Call it what you will. I call it extortion.

You better fight for the (lousy) candidate that we chose (for all the wrong reasons). If you don't, and we lose, it will be all your fault.

Isn't "meet our demands or the results will be your fault" what the extortionist (kidnapper, terrorist) always says?

It's always been around. That's why the arc of the moral universe is so damned, infuriatingly long. Because whenever it bends toward justice, it always bends left, but the liberal bashers have always tried to stop it. They don't succeed in stopping it, but they sure do slow the fsck down as much as they possibly can.

Roosevelt was an outsider. With the exception of Murray, all of F.D.R.’s rivals were from the pro-business, hard-money, establishment wing of the Democratic Party.

History repeats.

There are torches and pitchforks on the horizon. Dusk is here and night time approaches but the glow from torch flames promises an end to the darkness and the monsters that always travel in the cover of the darkness.

If you squint your eyes, you can just make out the sparkle of metal from the pitchforks and the pungent scent of hot tar drifts downwind and into the valley.

At first there were only a few. Now our numbers are in the millions. We have seen each others faces and recognize our fellow travelers.

Onward!

Quick to jump on board, quick to defend it, but the moment things go south (like the rest of us saw coming for days), quick to jump off the train.

Refuse to take any ownership.
