So, the primaries are over

Hillary Clinton is about to win the Democratic nomination. Big deal.

The system is rigged. We all know that.

Mrs. Clinton is the banksters' moll. We all know that, too. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is crooked down to her socks and should be replaced as DCN chair and as the congressional representative of Florida's 23rd district.

She's still better than Der Donald, we all know that. At least Mrs. C could pass a high school civics exam. Trump could not. I'd really like to hear him explain separation of powers. I could use a good laugh right now.

Mrs. C will get my vote if that is what it takes to keep Der Donald from picking up my state's 55 electoral votes.

After that, I'll still oppose free trade and NSA spying, and I'll insist that communications and banking industries be re-regulated and payday lending outlawed. Wall Street bankers should be investigated for fraud and prosecuted. I will still demand that the government subsidize renewable energy and stop giving away money to oil and coal; I demand that the government put in place a plan to supplant and eventually supplant fossil fuels with renewable sources, the sooner the better. I oppose wars for oil. We don't need oil, we need to put this plan into effect and now. In addition, I insist that upper class tax cuts be rolled back pre-Reagan levels. If the forgoing is not implemented, Mrs. Clinton will not get my vote under any circumstances in 2020.

Whether this can be done within the structure of the Democratic Party or whether the party is now so corrupt that it is beyond hope for progressives to expect accommodation is a discussion that needs to take place, but is prohibited by the longstanding rules of DU. Therefore, for those who want to have this discussion, I'll see you at Jackpine Radicals, where this post is cro54rss posted.

I come back for toons and for SCE each Sunday. But, the vitriol and sarcasm during the primaries have swollen my IL to epic lengths, and I can barely tolerate the gloating.

Oh, and I'm still #BernieorBust, so I guess I'll be banned soon.

As I see it, my choice now is between a corrupt warmonger and an insane loose cannon. I choose neither. I'll be writing in Bernie, and I will be sleeping soundly at night.

Thank goodness it's only June 14th. In a few days a post such as mine would bring down the wrath of, well, all the powers that be.

This one says "Feel the Bern" on a '70s style colorful background. Now I have one for every occasion.

I wonder if I'll be able to report my t-shirt purchases after June 16th.

The arrogance and constant snarky comments from Brock's trolls gets old.

Bernie or bust all the way. This will be the first time in life I will not be voting for the dem nominee. This primary has just confirmed the fears of so many. The Democratic Party is run by corporate elite war hawks. I am sure a great deal got into politics for good reasons, but money and perhaps fear have turned them into cowards who no longer support anyone other than the 1%.

Sure, they occasionally throw the masses a bone to make it seem like they are really trying, but the only people truly benefitting have been the rich for the part 30 years.

For the first time since 1980, I will not be voting for president.
Did I mention that 1980 was the first time I voted?
Well it was.

I have to hand it to Bernie. He woke me up big time. I no longer have to accept what the party use to be. Even though I knew it was fucked up years ago. HRC will have 4 years to straighten it out, or she's "out" in 2020. Guaranteed. The revolution has been phenomenal, and I know it will continue into 2018 and beyond. We have set our seeds out to grow. And grow we will.

I suspect 2-4 years from now, the political scene will be much different than today. We the people will continue our fight for the lower and middle class. The corruption and rigged system have got to go. Tuition free college, national healthcare climate change, and restructuring criminal justice are just a few items to be addressed.

Am I going to vote for HRC? As of today, it is very unlikely I will vote for her, and I've NEVER "not voted" democrat in any election. I'm sorry, but with Hillary in Wall Street's back pocket, and the millions of corrupt funds associated to her, and the baggage, I cannot find it in my heart to vote for her. I may change before November, but unlikely. If not, Bernie will be penciled in for me.

As for this site. I wish it well. It's gonna be boring without us.

I have an account at JPR w/different handle. LesserOf2Weevils. I don't post much, but it will be a source of sanity and action in forthcoming days.

I envision registering Ind., waiting to see what Bernie does. I have very little faith in the Democratic Party nationally. Will vote Democratic for House and Senate in upcoming election, but leaving the Presidential one blank. My state will vote for Trump. If Bernie were to run independently, he'd have my vote and support. Green Party is not on the ballot in my state - but I am hoping I will have a new party and new purpose following the curtains drawn back on the corruption and corporate ownership of the Democrats.
