Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumThe tonal change and appreciation for Bernie is noticeable here tonight ...
A number of people are writing that this is the first time they connected with Bernie's message. That they liked his positions and his integrity and class. Clearly they weren't listening before, because it wasn't any different than he's always been. Pity they were so closed to him before. I wonder how much of the electorate was similarly blind.
It's somehow gratifying to see changes of heart here, though thinly so.
Maybe the Bernie bashing will taper off, anyway.

(9,036 posts)but unfortunately Bernie's backers are irate and disrupting the convention. They deserve to let off some steam after the way Bernie was treated on the campaign trail, but Bernie has lost control of his creation, if he ever had control.
I can understand the Bernie love at the convention, but I was annoyed when I kept hearing "Black Lives Matter" chants during several of the speeches last night. Again, the protests are justified, but I don't think this is the time or place.
Otherwise, a really good first night for the Dems.

(16,226 posts)Nasty, disrespectful crap they have dished out as Sen Sanders asked us to support Clinton. They are no better than the BoBers they claim to hate so much.

(46,179 posts)and the fact that polls consistently indicated she'd have trouble beating Trump for the last year won't mean anything at all.
TPTB must have their scapegoats.

Sadly, most people who like to discuss issues aren't talking much anymore and the ones who do nothing but fight have the floor to themselves.
