I'm SO EXCITED about this article!
I just received this from a friend. A friend that was a Hillary supporter. We've argued politics often. I'm much more liberal than he. But, he is a staunch Democrat. We've argued about Hillary and Bernie many times, in front of many people. I'll spare you the context of the arguments. Well, except his, "what's wrong with corporations making money?" UGH!
However, he's a music freak. I started him thinking about Bernie over a month ago with one of Bernie's speeches. He has liked him from the start but was still clinging to that Hillary thread. Until he saw this...
It isn't a household name like the now-defunct CBGB in New York City, and it doesn't get the same recognition in the punk rock history books as a spot like 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley. But 242 Main Street is special in its own way: Nearly 30 years after opening its doors, it is now one of the longest running all-ages music venue in the country, beginning as an offbeat government-funded effort to overturn a draconian city ban on live music that resulted in the transformation of an old administrative building into the municipal youth center that exists to this day.

When I saw the cartoon of Bernie Sanders that is used in this article I thought it was going to be something bad. So pleasantly surprised!

(17,997 posts)I am really surprised at how few people seem to think do. Besides it's not something you would think you would see about a 70 something, balding, Senator, "punk" and "Sanders" in the same sentence, it's just a really cool thing he did.
Just gotta love the guy.

(9,497 posts)He really doesn't see the citizens in terms of voter identification and their worth to him personally. He just sees what people need and does what he can to support them.
