We must launch a political revolution which engages millions of Americans from all walks of life in the struggle for real change. This country belongs to all of us, not just the billionaire class. And thats what this campaign is all about.
To win this campaign, all of us must be deeply involved. Our movement needs people like you to help it succeed.
Add your name now to volunteer for our campaign for president.
Thanks for all you do,
R. P. McMurphy
(834 posts)First time ever volunteering for any candidate. I no longer have money to contribute but I will give Senator Sanders my time.

(45,251 posts)how many different individuals have donated to him.
However, volunteering is very valuable as well.

(834 posts)limited my funds but I can surely find a (very) few dollars occasionally.
Thanks for the reminder that even small amounts can help.

(45,251 posts)Many campaigns at the Presidential level don't even need small donations and are more than able to pay all the staff they really need. Then, we are asked to participate to keep voters engaged and invested in the candidate's win. With all those allied against it, Bernie's campaign really needs every volunteer. So, it you multiply your time by even a minimum wage, you can see you will be contributing quite a bit of monetary value.
I'm sorry about your circumstances. There seems to be a lot of that going around, sadly.

(53,410 posts)I just donated this morning. Unfortunately my health makes it too difficult and too painful to move around much. But I donate to his campaign all the time and will continue to do so unless Bernie says otherwise (if he ever does).

(53,410 posts)that is so nice of you! Yes. My doctors gave me Ciprofloxacin when I ended up in the hospital with a Urinary tract infection that got into my kidneys and bone marrow. The Cipro left my body wracked with tendonitis. If you've ever had tendonitis in one or two tendons you can imagine what it's like to have every tendon in your body affected.
Fortunately word of mouth from people who suffer from chronic pain and getting their advice via the internet has helped me with managing the pain a lot. I'm able to function relatively well but I can easily overdo physical movement. The pain is under control, though it's always there.
If any doctor ever wants to give you or anyone you know that antibiotic do yourself a favor and google it. The heartbreaking stories you'll find will surely make you shun the drug. Unfortunately most people are driven in despair to the internet after they've taken it.
My intent here is not to get pity or to simply complain. It's to warn anyone who might be willing to hear it. Your sympathy is more than welcomed! Again, thank you.

(39,215 posts)I had trouble with transportation. What I am doing now is putting everything I can on my facebook page and donating monthly. I plan on buying a yard sign for my front window as it looks out over a sports field and all year round their are parents who are there to watch their children. I also hope to spread pamphlets wherever I go if I can get ahold of some later in the campaign - closer to when MN has our primary. Also brow beating my family into learning about him.
If I keep that up I will just be one of the invisible volunteers. And that is okay with me - my reward will be his win.

I suspect donations would be appreciated too. I am front loading my donations this year. They are building infrastructure fast here in Iowa and I would suppose money could be an issue early on.

(39,215 posts)It made me remember when I was running McGovern headquarters in a small county in Nebraska. Most of us were college students but one evening an elderly woman walked in with a plate of goodies. She wanted to share her story - she had worked like we were working in a pre-FDR campaign and wanted to do something to help. I do not remember the name of her candidate but he was the Catholic candidate for the Democratic Party for president then. Alf Smith - 1928 - google is our friend.

(974 posts)It looks like there will be many young people involved from what I can tell. I think supplying some goodies from time to time will be very much appreciated!

Showing people you can raise money and have the support of lots of individual donors (aka voters) loosens the purse strings of those who can afford to write larger checks.
The above info is not necessarily for you, but for anyone who is unaware of it: Point is, the more donated early on, the more it can do for the candidate.
Did the email elaborate on any of the things it listed? For example, what is involved in street canvassing? Are they providing any leaflets or literature to hand out on the street? How much food? How do you know where to bring it and to whom to give it?
Come to think of it, I'd probably rather donate than cook for a crowd in the summer heat.
We have our first meeting the 20th.
They sent out a survey with 10 issues that motivate us most. Then 10 issues you would like to know more about. Then the list I posted about help. I believe the answers will be used to help set up the meeting. Not much detail yet.

(45,251 posts)I had not received anything about volunteering.
Of course we are going to get information first. They are setting up infrastructure quickly now. I am guessing they will try things here then improve on what works as they move national. Just my guess.
