I think that if he started talking about Cannabis legalization or at least a massive roll back of the war on cannabis he could GUARANTEE the youth vote and that it would get them energized a lot more than they already are!!!

A #1 tiptop lets make it a primary platform plank issue but it is an issue that will draw a decent voting block. Not to say I think it's terribly wise, being loud about the easily mocked can make unwanted trouble, but let's not throw too much snark at wanting to pull voters. No matter how little import you think it has.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said Tuesday that he supports the decriminalization of marijuana possession and the legalization of medical marijuana, and suggested that he's also open to considering further reforms when it comes to recreational marijuana.

"Let me just say this," Sanders began in response to a question about his position on the war on drugs during a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" style interview. "The state of Vermont voted to decriminalize the possession of small amounts of marijuana and I support that. I have supported the use of medical marijuana. And when I was mayor of Burlington, in a city with a large population, I can tell you very few people were arrested for smoking marijuana. Our police had more important things to do."

This effects a lot of people WAY more than people think! I have seen some say that 65 million people have drug charges AND I would be willing to bet that more than 65 million people would turn out to vote for it! And yes my working life has been ruined by a pot conviction 20 years ago and that is the only thing I have EVER been charged with.I am in a state that never drops your record so I never got a second chance!
