(9,033 posts)Somebody needs to call them out: Yea, Bernie! Issue by issue they are out of the "mainstream", while our Independent democratic socialist is right in the middle of it.

(9,688 posts)I should've deleted that post. The sarcasm was way too heavy - and provided far too clear a mirror of the arguments of several anti-Sanders posters (esp. the ones who complain not about what Bernie Sanders has done and said, which is all good, but of what he "didn't say".).
Sorry for the heavy handedness.
eta: there, I fixed it.

(19,537 posts)... appropriately when others try to change the focus of what needs discussion.
Manny has posted enough I've been used to it, but if others were taking his approach, it at times might be hard to see through that.

(9,688 posts)when a MLK theme, that happened to dovetail exactly with Sanders' message, was quoted in an OP.
By "they" I think you know which half-dozen HRC supporters that I mean.
The tactic is to dismiss all that Sanders has said and done in the past, as not counting, and to chastise him for what he supposedly "doesn't say" in whatever last speech. Plus, of course, to chastise him when an crowd picture from, say, Vermont, is "too white".
This meme started the moment Bernie Sanders announced, and it hasn't stopped for a moment since.
Thankfully, one of the worst players of that low and underhanded tactic (the poor picked on fellow) has finally been blocked from the Sanders group -- tho' not before scoring another hide on a Sanders supporter who took offence at the obvious trolling.

I still wonder how many of these are "paid operatives". Seems like there are a lot of those types posting to message groups these days with an agenda.
I miss the debate where we could have an honest debate on candidates' stances on issues, like gun control for Bernie for example.
He's obviously very nuanced about that issue, much like Howard Dean was when he ran as a Vermonter for president too. I have feelings both way on that, and I'd like to have a debate help fine tune our party's message in the general election, so that people feel safe in their communities, but those who want to hunt in a way that is safe and doesn't hurt other people can do so as well.
